It looks like they took real images of Orville Redenbacher and added computer animation to "bring him back to life". Not that I ever really cared for poor old Orville, but it is really creepy and in poor taste. I'm gonna have nightmares.

abcdef....I have seen those other commercials and the Nat King Cole/ Natalie Cole song, the difference is, they didn't change their faces with computer animation and make it seem like they are still "alive". Did you SEE this commercial? It was awful and really creepy! I honestly don't think they will keep this commercial on TV too long.

YES and let me just say I will never eat his popcorn again with that image staining my brain cells. He's so creepy and spooky in that commercial. For goodness sake, the man's dead, there is no reason to make a mock up of him and parade him on tv.

Just caught one last night. I wasn't really paying attention when it came on but when old Orville started talking about an MP3 player it caught my attention. The word disturbing comes to mind...

confident and allow me in simple terms say i will in no way consume his popcorn back with that photograph staining my thoughts cells. he's so creepy and spooky in that advertisement. For goodness sake, the guy's ineffective, there is not any reason to make a ridicule up of him and parade him on television.

Yes it is very weird and disrespectful. The man has been dead for over 10 years! Just type his name in the yahoo search bar and you will get all sorts of bad responses to the ad. Creepy indeed.

its been done before in commercials, music videos, etc. I didn't hear anyone complaining when Nat King Cole and his daughter were in a video together, even though he had been dead for years before the video was made.

i no its creepy. they say "every time u eat his popcorn, you'll think of Orville Redenbacher". That makes me think they're tryin ta say "think of his dead body, and enjoy tha popcorn!" creepy. lolz
