Your probably a dumb 12-16 year old kid that likes crappy mainstream hip-hop/rap that thinks he has a shot at becoming a rapper. Well to make beats you need to buy equipment, and the equipment is expensive. I play guitar, and basically do the same thing the first guy who plays bass just said. It's easier and cheaper to just buy a guitar instead of programing things to make fake music that you didn't even create. Listen to some music that actually has meaning to it.

Can you be more specific. If you are refering to hip-hop beats, many people use a drum machine. You can also use a MIDI keyboard and a music software program. If you are tech savvy you can use the rhythm track option on sheet music programs. There is some freeware stuff out there. I use Anvil Studios personally to compose all of my music, but I'm starting to use Finale. Hope this helps.

Me? I play a bass guitar. Thus, I am the beats. My band creates songs by kicking ideas around a room, we jam, play funky riffs, combine them with lyrics and drums. Viola. Songs. You DID ask how I create songs, so don't complain if you don't like the answer.

Write the lyrics first.

Then the music will naturally follow.
