Hmmm...I think there is a bit of bias in this question. I'm no Dem, but the Republicans have some issues too....let's be fair here.
Dem issues:
-Too quick to cut military spending and efforts without considering a compromise
-Too much representation of interest groups and not enough representation of the average voter (but then so are republicans!)
-TOO politically correct...(case in point: ACLU)
-Hippocritical
Republican issues:
-Too quick to spend money we don't have
-Too quick to sacrifice the sons and daughters of middle-to-lower class families in battle but not willing to send their own (nor are the Dems, come to think of it!)
-Need to clean up the mess in our own back yards instead of spending taxpayer dollars on a rebuilding effort for those who ought to be financing it out of their oil monies.
-Hippocritical
Bottom line: Both parties stink.

1. Failure to address peak oil - that cheap oil may be coming to an end soon.
2. Wanting to make school children recite the Pledge of Allegiance in the schools with "under God" in it.
3. Being too agreeable with Republicans, allowing the Gitmo and Abu Ghraib scandals to happen, the Patriot Act to be passed, and a war with Iraq to start and continue on and on and on and on.

wanting to try to appease people they are passing terrible laws that will not do what they promise and will hurt the american people and business.
they won by saying the administration had no plan and they had the answers but still havent come out with the plan they said they had.
they promised so many things and have voted and acted in the exact opposite they promised.

OK, that was a "clever" answer.
In reality I think that the Democrat party's greatest single fault is a steadfast dedication to the pursuit of power above all other ideals.
Second, they have forsaken the concept of America.
Lastly, "They have forgotten the faces of their Fathers".
