First: A stray cat has been coming around a spraying our garage and sometimes I smell it inside, is the spray harmful like the cat litter? I already avoid cleaning our cats little, but I dont know about spray.

Second: I have my "big" ultrasound on the 2nd of Feb and Ill be 24 weeks... how often are they not able to tell the sex because baby is not in right position? Will medi-cal pay to have another ultrasound if that one is not conclusive? How many of you didnt get to find out?

Third: I tend to end up sleeping on my stomache, not flat on it, but mostly. I put a pillow between my legs, but still cant sleep fully on side. Will I squish the baby?

Thanks!

first... no, spray doesn't carry the same issue that cat feces does. http://www.2ndchance.info/toxoplasmosis.htm

second... by 24 weeks the baby is big enough to poke him to move out of the way, so your fairly safe :) Take some orange juice with you and have a drink before you go in, that'll make him wake up and move for ya easier.

third... i sleep the same way and am 37w 2d pregnant (but whos counting LOL) I asked my doc the same thing and she sorta looked at me silly :P guess we can't squish the baby that way :)

Best of luck to ya hun!

I think you should avoid that cat's spray. For the same reason that you avoid the litter box.

May or may not find baby in the right position to tell its sex. Why is that so important to know, anyway? Buy baby stuff in yellow or green and either way, you'll be covered. I didn't get to find out, because they didn't do that back when mine were born. I think knowing early is like opening presents before Christmas!

I don't think you'll squish the baby. There's lots of protection there for it. Besides, if baby is uncomfortable, he/she will kick and wake you up.

First: No it wont hurt you. As long as you don't go around playing in it. Just stay away from it. Just smell alone can't hurt you.

Second: If you can't tell the gender they will have you shake your belly move it around to help move the baby. Take something cold to drink. Very cold!!! It will help get the baby moving. Or some sugar. Most insurance wont pay to get an ultra sound just to find out the baby. But if you call around you can get another one 3D for under $100. It may have to be a surprise.

Third: It is fine. I would sleep on my side and roll a pillow under me so I couldn't move all the way over. Trust me you wont be able to lay flat on your belly as you get bigger. Try your best not to sleep on it as much as you all ready are, and talk to your doctor. Soon you wont be able to sleep no matter what.

Best of luck! and Congratulations on the baby

I don't know the answer to the 1st question. For question 2, the state will not pay for another ultrasound just because you don't find out the sex, the purpose of the ultrasound is not to determine the sex its more like a fringe benefit. For question 3, you won't squish the baby.

toxoplasmosis is in the cat poop, not pee and no medi-cal won't pay for another ultrasound just to find out the sex. I only knew with 2 of my 3 kids because my middle boy wouldn't move into the right position. and as for sleeping, ask the doc to be surebut I think as long as you are not flat it'll be ok.

No, you wont squash the baby. By the time you would squach the baby, you wont be able to ly on your tummy. (I'm a tummy sleeper too, with three healthy kids)

I don;t think the spray (wich is urin) is harmful, but to be safe, use gloves when you clean it up.

I did not get to find out the sex of my third child because she wouldn't cooperate with the sonogram. As long as the test shows, the age of the baby and that all the major organs and brain are in the right position, they wont cover a reapeat sono.

1. No, the spray isn't harmful.
2. How dare you charge taxpayers so you can find out the sex of your baby. WAIT! You haven't earned the money to pay for it, so you can't have it. Imagine that!
3. You won't squish the baby.

Toxomoplasmosis comes from cat poop and you would have to touch it and then digest it. I am almost 99 percent sure you cant get it from that and I have done alot of research on it because I am pregnant and have 2 cats. I found out the sex of mine at 18 weeks I am having a boy! I am so excited! I think you should be able to see yours. I am not sure if if they will pay or not I don't have that insurance. I have read you can sleep on your belly. I don't it is to uncomfortable for me

1- Cat urine does not contain toxoplasmosis; it is in cat feces and other animals like mice, rats, and squirrels
2- Most of the time they will be able to see the baby's genitals, and I know that Medicaid pays for 2 ultrasounds; not sure if the same as Medi-cal
3-Sleeping on your stomach is okay as long as it doesn't hurt; your baby is very protected by the amniotic sac, uterus, and your abdominal tissue

3. no you will not squish baby...thats what the amniotic fluid is for. when you get further along it will just be uncompfortable for you
