You commit a crime, you go to jail. As a prisoner you become the responsibility of the taxpayers. WE taxpayers don't want you to sue us, so we pay for dentists and doctors to keep you as healhty as possible during your stay.
We worry far too much about what we think the government ought to give us for "free".
There is no such thing as free. You will pay for your "free" dentist 10 times over in the form of income tax, alcohol tax, tobacco tax, and anything else they can think to tax. If you don't work and pay taxes, then those of us who do will pay even more.
That "free" dentist still has to be paid for his services, you see.
I'm proud of the fact that I have a job and am responsible for my health insurance. This root canal in my upper pre-molar is a tribute to the fact that I am and adult and am free and can take care of myself.
