I dont. I think its a waste of time. First of all, they make what your watching less entertaining, like when they censor cussing or parts of a movie, and that would mean the people making the censors would be wasting their time. And why on American idol do they censor the water bottle labels? Have you noticed that? They dont censor the judges cups though.

People think they know what you should be seeing more than you do. The FCC is a flagrant violation of the First Amendment, but the SCOTUS won't hear it

Censorship is unfortunately a necessary evil...look what happened at the super bowl with janet Jacksons Boob - the network must have been diluged with calls, e-mails, etc. If there was a censor for that (i'm surprised there wasn't) it would've saved alot of people alot of grief. There is a huge portion of the populace that doesn't want to see ANYTHING. on tv.
as far as the water bottles on idol...royalties from product placement. Simons' no dummy!!

On the labels (water bottles) it is because the product is not endorsed by that station.. They aren't paying for it being an ad. But Coke is.. That is why. Censoring does suck, but that is why you can by the premium channels.. get HBO

I don't at all but they're there to keep the peace. There are those of us who hate censors. But I know that there are also those who are more than happy to cover up the truth.
Censoring labels, however, is necessary to keep from being sued for libel. (*gasps* I did learn something in government)

I'm of two minds. I'm quite sensitive and can be offended easily, so I'd just rather not see certain things. On the other hand, I usually censor myself quite well, so on the rare occasion I lose my temper and start cussing, and someone tells me to watch my language, it pi$$es me off.

Yes, if because its required to groom a good quality filled community but sad to say that most of the times not done on the right part or things but simply to protect the individual,organizations or a country particular believe even if its a rotten one.

It depends on the format and the situation. Some people may be drug addicts or in need in psychiatric help and can't regulate/censor or control themselves.
