most folk lore i think boils down to one of two things some sort of acrain knowledge to be passed on or some one wanting to be remeberedtake the story of troy or hecules, or better yet beowolf. all of these come down to some one who wanted to be remebered in history and all of them have some facts behind them as does most folk lore.
