Could they have possibly foreseen any of this mess?
Has the state of affairs today reflected any of their fundamental values in founding our country?

I know they were doing back flips with a half gainer when the supreme court said that the government can take anybody's land for any reason. That's just for starters.

You need to read the writings on future government here and the perils we faced. All by Thomas Jefferson very interesting he called it back then, one of the greatest statements was when he said, "I am a statesman and not a Politician". That was the key right then and there the handwriting was on the wall. He also talked about the people in businesses and enterprising interests the greed and the foreign governments conspiracies that we would always have to police ourselves from within because we had too many people with foreign interests. He wanted no foreign governments owning any property. Remember the Louisiana purchase? He busted France when he was President because he caught them in their plans of conspiracy with our enterprising civilians in big business here, (americans), he would have hung them all if he could have but instead he got Louisiana and he pursued the Northwest passage with Lewis and Clark because he saw this the day was coming when we could not control our country without bigger prosperous lands to adjoin as a union to fight as one against those that would destroy our country.

Oh yeah...they have been rolling for a long time now. I think unchecked executive power would be the one thing that they could not have foreseen. I don't think they imagined that the Congress and the people would so readily allow a president to pretty much do as he pleases.

I think they gave us more credit than we deserve...of course maybe they valued the ideals of our Constitution more than we do.

They will be comming out of their graves if liberals take over in 2008. I blame them for all of our woes in this country except for personal responsibiblity. Our country has done a nose dive and is about to crash. Not because of Bush or the war, this country has seen worse, but never has it ever morally declined to this point.

Their isolationist ideas are inn effective in these days and times. Both the right and the left have usurped their ideas and have made it an impossibility for our nation to remain isolationists.

Adolph's footprints linger today in this respect. I wish we could return to the original Constitution and start over.

1.Yes

2.As matter of fact they did. Our founding brethren had a major distrust for government and it can plainly be seen throughout our Constitution.
3. If any, very little.

the same founding fathers who started a revolution over a Tax on tea?
I think they roll in their graves everytime a liberal opens his mouth. Our founding fathers had the Balls to take on the empire of the day and win with a rag tag army. Everytime John Kerry or Hillary of Kennedy opens their trap, they spin, spin, spin.
