I have a LOT of foreign students as my friends. Therefore, I can give u some good advice.
First off, study hard. I see way too many foreign students slacking even when their parents spent so much money so that they can study here.
Second of all, make sure u have plans for what you want to do right after college. If you end up doing nothing, the US will send you home.
Third, learn about how the US is unique, and try to understand it's culture. I see way too many international students hanging out with each other instead of interacting with the general student body. As a result, they come away learning nothing about the culture of the U.S. It's such a waste, when they could be learning so much.
At the same time, teach U.S. kids about your culture. We will love to learn and appreciate where you came from!
All the best.

Where are you from? What type of culture do you come from?
Socialize- Become friends with your American class mates, and participate in extra-curricular and social activities.
Language- Practice the language, including slang. About 70% of current American English is slang- be sure to ask for definitions! Don't just rely on translating software or a dictionary.
Conflict resolution- Americans aren't mind-readers. If you have a problem, question or concern- tell us. Most people don't try to be rude, but if we don't know, we can't fix it.
In general- be curious, ask questions, and practice, practice, practice.

Keep your sense of humor. English is tough enough, but the slang is different by the neighborhood. Don't try to become an American- after all we are all mutts and immigrants. Take lots of pictures, keep a journal and then sell it to a publisher. There is more to education than just schooling. You're lucky and it should be quite the adventure. Enjoy. Be blessed.

Welcome, enjoy and try not to be overwhelmed at first by cultural differences.
I've been told by Europeans that Americans tend to be much warmer and more open than other cultures-- so be open to new friends and I really hope you have a great time with us here!
