Biden is certanly a good guy and a useful senator.
No one except Biden himself, however, sees him as presidential. He has no natural base, no access to major league funding. He cannot be taken seriously as a candidate.
Unlike Denis Kucinich, moreover, Biden does not personify any very important issue that could be advanced through a presidential campaign.
Like Arlen Spector in 2000, or Joe Lieberman, therefore, Biden will be an embarrassment on the campaign trail.
