I've read where I shouldn't have 2 firewalls turned on, and my "windows" firewall automatically turns itself off......Is that because I have "Norton Security"?.........I turn it back on because, there have been a few times when I have gone to turn my computer off, and I get the message" Others are logged on to this computer.etc.etc.etc. ( I'm the only one home at the time, and NO one else is or has used this computer!! Sure enough I check my windows firewall and its off. Is'nt the Norton suppose to protect me..... I'm afraid to leave the "Windows firewall off"
Thanks a lot for helping me..I appreciate it!

Every Security Suite comes with a firewall, and Norton is no exception. You are getting the message because both Norton and Windows Firewalls are ON, which may cause conflicts among them. So, turn off Windows firewall. To make sure that Norton firewall is protecting you, go to Start > Control Panel > Security Center. See the 'Firewall' information.

Norton is typically stronger than the windows firewall - I would keep the windows one off.....if you have norton running.

Actually, I absolutely hate Norton... I think it's very invasive and slows down computers. I ended up taking it off my 3 computers and sending it back for a refund. If you have it and your computer's running ok, then leave it BUT if you're computer really slows down - that's what the culprit is.

I bet you are using a wireless router. What is happening is someone is hacking into your router, probably a neighboor. If that is the case then you will have to secure that router,Norton internet security will be good enough, you can leave the windows firewall as is if you want .Let me know about the router
