Beauty is whatever the person who is looking at the object of criticism preceives it to be. Some women believe that Brad Pitt is the epitomy of fine for a man. Some think that Jessica Simpson is the best looking woman. Some think that their three year old daughter is the most beautiful person on earth. The answers will vary from person to person. The phrase is really used because beauty is defined so differently, just like the people who attempt to judge what beauty is...

That means that some people might think Marilyn Monroe was a beauty and some might not have it, depends on if her beauty is in the eye of the one that thought she was beautiful. And the ones that thought she wasn't a beauty then it wasn't in their eyes. I don't even know if this makes sense but thats the best way i know how to explain it!!

It means that everyone sees beauty in different forms for eg. you might see beauty in someones personality while someone else might see it in the smile etc

It means that when you look at someone and think he or she is drop dead georgous, someone else might look at them and think they are butt ugly. I think of people in my life who I thought were attractive until they opened their mouths. And others who didn't seem very attractive until I got to know them.
