Do you think that cruise ships have enough life perservers&life boats to accomodate everyone on the boat if something were to go wrong?

Yes they do. After some maritime disasters (Titanic) International Maritime Law required all ships to carry more than enough life jackets and life boats to carry passengers and crew. All cruise ships carry out abandon ship drills almost immediately after getting underway to familiarize passengers with the location of this safety gear and these procedures.

Well when i went on a cruise Everyone on the boat got a life preserver and was shown how to use it in a mandatory demonstration. Life boats, their looked like there was enough but I didn't count them

any cruise ship that works out of American...or First World Europe... ports must carry.......one life jacket for everyone, plus 25% in childrens size, plus 50% additional;
each cruise ship also carries enough life boats plus life rafts ON EACH SIDE to take EVERYONE.(passengers and crew)off...so you have almost twice as much capacity as you need....you could lose ALL the lifeboat and rafts on one side and still be safe

When I went on a cruise-they had life vests in our cabin.
I'm fairly certain federal regulations require there to be ample life preservers/rafts, in case of an emergency.

yes,
in jaws the captain would not wear them as he had an experience on the Indianappolis
but you will be ok as long as you don't eat too much food as they serve food 24/7 on most ships
