If he is not sure at 4 months, you definitely need another opinion!! They are able to tell at 8 weeks by ultrasound how many sacs there are. I would not be satisfied with the answer you got.

Go see a new doctor. You are able to tell at four months. You would first off have two heartbeats. Sonograms are getting better and better that even have four dimensional (really cool) You should defiantly know by now. With my twins the doctor had speculated that I was having two before I even had an ultrasound. (I was a bit over four months imagine my shock finding out that late in pregnancy I was having two and they were girls(I'm not a bad mom I couldnt find a doctor who would take my insurence) Good luck

I don't think he would really make it up to scare you or anything...he just wanted to let you know there was a possibity. They thought I was having twins, only because they could hear the blood flow in two different spots, but the ultrasound proved otherwise. I would just wait and get the ultrasound done again and see if there are any other signs, but I really don't think that the guy is un trustworthy just because he told you a possibiity.

I was checked at 11 weeks to see if I had twins, and doctor knew immediately that I did not. I think they would have been able to tell at 4 months. I would get a second opinion.

by 4 months a experienced sonograph tech should be able to tell if you are having twins. Most doctors aren't that great at using a sonogram except to diagnose pregnancy. Go ahead and get a 2nd opinion.

They can tell at 6 weeks if you are having twins, 4 months and he doesnt know after an ultrasound? either he's an idiot or he's protecting you from something. One twin may not be viable and may pass without your knowledge.... I'd get another doctor's opinion just to be sure.

two months ago my friend found out she was pregnant with twins and she was only a 7 weeks and 2 days when we went and you could fully see the two babies if you dont see two at 4 months or havent seen it so far then more than likely you wont have them. good luck with your pregnancy

At four months they should be able to tell conclusively whether or not you are having twins, and possibly the sex of both babies. You need to go see someone else; this doctor sounds like a moron to me........

You would definitely be able to see them and hear both heart beats by 4 months along. I think your doctor sucks.
