Need help with the name of a movie?

Its from a few years ago,set I believe in the 50s. I think is was about a gang,maybe in new york(Brooklyn?) and the one scene I remember is that someone on a buildings roof,throws a huge rock onto a parked car below,while people are standing around it.Thanks!
