i bought a car off ebay that failed emissions three times.I got the vehicle from New Jersey and i live in Georgia.i went to try to get a tag and they asked for emissions.During the course of getting the emissions done I lost the title and dont know what has happened to it and it is required in Ga or at least i think it is now.Ive had a hard time getting a duplicate title as the company i bought from doesnt seem to have it and it doest register in either Georgia or New Jersey and the dealer gives me the run around and gives me different prices on a new one.im not totally sure where my "bill of sale" is either.the dmv acts like they dont handle lost titles or from doing this years back. Meanwhile the radiator went bad and got cracked,my card has been broke into and the window switches, the headboard(controlling air conditioner, heat light, etc and my cd player has been stolen and it needs a paint job.it also has a 12 inch subwoofer amp i put in it i dont want to lose.

Sounds to me like the whole deal might be shady. Go to your county treasurer- they will be more helpful than the DMV and they can help you with obtaining a lost title. You might be better off selling the car for parts and taking it as a loss and a lesson learned.

With DMV U need 2 pay 4 a lost title reguardless of what state U live in.U might have 2 go to there website & request the title search & a fee of $25 so hopefully you'll be able 2 find it.Good Luck

Firstly, get an application for lost title from the state your cars title is registered in. This will cost about 2-5 dollars, and takes about 4 weeks. When you receive the title, take it to the DMV in your home state, and get an out of state vehicle title transfer. Overall, this is a long and tedious paperwork trail you're about to take on.
Good luck...

In whichever state you bought the car, apply for a lost title by contacting their DMV, giving them the VIN # should get you moving on the right track.
