No, I have not been able to do that even for my husband. We have some differing opinions on religion and political issues (how did we ever get married?lol). Through it all I have respected his opinions but can't change mine. They are so deeply rooted in family history and tradition in some cases and in others it is because I refuse to conform. I think for myself and sometimes that thinking is outside the box. I am one conflicted person, lol.
My parents raised me the same as my four brothers and that
was to think and care for ourselves, there were no separations between us as far as what we could and could not do. My
husband's family raised the boys as boys and the daughter as the daughter giving them "traditional" gender roles in the house.
This is probably the only time I convinced my husband that he was handcuffing his daughters opportunities and he changed his views. So, maybe he can change my views on something someday as I keep an open mind.
PS sorry it is so long and Ash was not to happy about some of the "privileges" of the no sexual discrimination in the house bit,
cleaning dog poop and taking out the trash kinda bite

That would be rejecting my personality, no, I don't think that I'll go as far as to change my views on any subject, I may compromise on some, but not change them all for the sake of the one I love. She has to accept me as I am and not as she wants me to be!

Mostly, no. I couldn't even change my views, on my own. True beliefs are deeply rooted and would not be changed. Of course there are minor exceptions (ones that I could bear to let go). Otherwise...strength of conviction is important.

I could as long as the compromise was being true to my self and the one that I love. There is a lot of power to the truth.

Depends, maybe they would enlighten me to see the other side of the picture. I wouldn't do it just because I loved them, but because they gave me the info to change my opinion.

I listen openly....and respect anothers opinion. If I feel strongly enough about something...it should be respected, as well.

I could, but I won't. I respect everyone's right to free choice so they should also respect mine.
