Lets say, for arguments sake, Bush says tommorow, "you know what, to hell with it. The Democrats and liberals want us out of Iraq I'm tired of arguing so I'm bringing every last one home within 30 Days!" and within 30 days every US military person is gone from the middle east. I assume the liberals will be estatic, correct?
Now, what do you think will happen next? Lets do a whole flow chart kind of thing.
I'll start you off.....Iran will invade Iraq.... You guys can go from there.
I want honest answers. What, as a liberal, do you think is going to happen? Do you think peace and love? A group hug?
Is Al queda gonna open up bed and breakfasts????

I'm really curious what the average liberal thinks is going to happen in the middle east and the world in the months after Bush hypothetically pulls all the troops out in 30 days...
I'm not talking saving money, troop deaths etc... because we will pay more in the long run and many more americans will die by the truck load...

No one has advocated pulling out of Iraq???? Wow, Wonder what paers I've been reading and what senators and politicians have been all over my TV? Where do they want us to pull out of then? Some conflict with the Boy Scouts??

not sure what facts you want. MrG. It was a simple question. What will happen after we pull out in 30 days? That is the fact you can work with. I mean, its a hypothetical question, based on the actual demands of the liberals. As far as Iran invading Iraq, they will annex that country sure as I sit here and breath. Along with lebanon and Syria. Jordan announced this week they want a "peaceful" nuke program. Same with Egypt. More "peaceful" nukes. Sounds like things will go south real quick. How long do you think Israel will sit idle? My point is that anyone who thinks that anything short of complete victory, by WHATEVER means are needed, is not warranted is delusional.

You are not going to find a single Liberal who understands an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Foresight is not something they are capable of.

They believe in increasing Social Security because they are too shortsighted to save for their own future. Nothing in the Liberal mantra accounts for the future. They are responsible for the union pension plans that broke the back American industry. Their Great Society created the perpetual welfare state.

They would rather let Iran develop a nuclear program than cause a stir. They think that there is no reason that they shouldn't be allowed to generate nuclear energy. It has not crossed their mind that Iran wants to develop nuclear weapons. Why else would a nation that sits on more oil than they could possibly consume for their own energy needs in a thousand years want nuclear power?

I wish there was a way to keep track of all of these people. We should just record how they feel about letting Iraq go to pot or letting Iran have nukes and write their names down somewhere. That way in ten or twenty years when we have no choice but to go to war and possibly on a nuclear battlefield we can send their kids instead of mine.

first off.. Iran won't invade Iraq... so, I'm very hesitant to even answer this when you don't seem to have a clue...

Iran and Iraq are the same religion now, Iran doesn't NEED TO INVADE... they will be best buddies without any invasion... why invade a friend?

the numbers of estimated al-queda/other terrorists in Iraq are under 1,300 (defense intel)... so that's not a big enough number to really have an impact in a whole nation... there are probably that many in the U.S.... at least...

but, I think it's clearly going to go to civil war... they are already trying... these people have been fighting for thousands of years... they aren't going to stop just because we want them to...

so whenever we leave... civil war... 10 years from now, 1 year from now, 50 years from now... I don't think it matters... it's over religion and you can't just sit them down and talk it out...

what I really want to know is... why do you think what you think? what are you basing your opinions on... I see a lot of talk, no real facts to back it up...

YOU DIDN'T ASK FOR A SOLUTION... YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT QUESTION YOU ASKED... GEEZ

What is going to happen to Iraq is going to happen to Iraq, whether we stay there for 30 days or 30 years. Iraq doesn't stand a chance on its own, currently. Iran is already working covertly, and overtly, within Iraq through funding and the influx of insurgents. Why should American lives be sacrificed to stop what is going to happen? If Iraq wants to be free, then it must work to maintain its government, not us.

Get a clue. Nobody has advocated pulling out of Iraq. They have advocated putting a ceiling on the number of troops and setting a timetable for withdrawal along with switching our mission from combat to training. This was recommended by the Iraq study group.

nytrain...you really need to LISTEN to the tv. Nobody has suggested pulling out of Iraq, just objected to the troop increase. I know it is hard to pay attention, but try.

I think if we pull out slowly what happens will happen. do you really think Iran is afraid of us?
if they're going to invade, they will invade.

maybe us leaving will defuse the situation and the negociations can improve. we have just as much too loose either way. but since we haven't left we can only speculate on what wil happne- thus we can think positivly. but in this situation, we have nothing positive to go on.

but if Iran goes in-wheather we are there or not- there will be problems. maybe this time we won't be in it alone. even england has left us

I think we'd be pleased, not ecstatic.

As far as the ramifications, I don't care. Let them all kill each other. It's not worth 1 American life.

Any country that becomes a problem in the future can be put out of existence.

Your scenario is just a theory promulgated by people with a vested interest in the matter. We don't really know,

Such dire predictions were made about Vietnam and the world did not fall apart when we pulled out of that disaster.
What happens will happen. We need to get out now.

Nothing that happens in Iraq will please me. It is too late, the damage is done.
