I think my husband is using meth but he says that he is stressed out and depressed. He mentioned that being bipolar runs in his family. I think he is liying. I love him but I cant live like this and i wont. I've already moved out with my mom and took the kids with me as well as filed for a divorce. I told him it is over,......Is it really over? I think so.

Actually it is not uncommon for people with bipolar to be substance abusers!
Also people with bipolar will spend money and can try to hide the fact that they spent it. My ex husband was bipolar and he would do this. He usually couldn't account for where that money went.
Bipolar causes cycling of mania and depression (although not always severe.) These cycles can last hours, weeks, even months. I could see how they could be similar. In a manic state a bipolar person can be motivated energetic, confident, etc. But when they get into a depressed cycle they can be depressed, unmotivated, sleep a lot. Either way bipolar or meth user if he doesn't get help things will not get better. My ex refused help and made my life (and out children's lives) miserable. I stayed till I knew it was hopeless and I was afraid of the effects on my children.
Keep in mind though Bipolar is genetic.

sounds like you are taking the steps needed to end it.

From experience Bipolar Disorder can mimick the symptoms of schizophrenia and meth can mimick the symptoms of schizophrenia, so you should believe your husband unless you can find reason not to, suspicion is not reason enough to doubt his story. Have you found any drugs in his possession? Has he been staying up all night for days and not eating much? Does he sleep constantly at other times? If yes, you could have a meth addict on your hands. Those are symptoms not caused by Bipolar. Has he been to a shrink? Does he have a diagnosis from a doctor? Does he take medications like Zoloft, or Abilify? Those are some other questions to ask before jumping to conclusions.

I actually have Bipolar form a million. i have not had a manic episode (i have had 4 finished) for a three hundred and sixty 5 days now, yet when I actually have one which is like being on drugs, notwithstanding i have not in any respect tried meth. i am going to't sleep. i trust very paranoid and euphoric. I actually have extraordinary delusions and auditory hallucinations. i imagine i'm about to have a depressive episode now. both my manic and depressive episodes in many cases very last per week. In between episodes i trust exceptionally widely used with a strong mood.

Actually yes, being bipolar will being you great highs, sleepless nights, excess energy as well as, depression, apathy, lack of energy, quick temper. Similar signs will be present in a meth user. The biggest tell is to look for money missing that you cannot account for.

usually when you use meth the only time you are depressed is when you don't have anymore. to me i find no resemblance of the two. meth motivates you an gives you energy beyond compare. meth usually causes one to be very talkative an happy on the high not depressed.

No, bi polar is when you have severe mood swings...not based on being on a meth high then coming down (crashing)
And bi polar people are NOT usually into drugs...manic depression (bi-polar) is a mental illness brought on by a chemical imbalance within the brain not drug use...

Bi-polar people usually are into drugs period. I went thru it too with my ex and he had a bad family history too. If he don't get help then I would stay away for good.
