For a good answer, we need more info, as the others have inferred. Is the damage covered by your insurance? What's the deductible out of your pocket? Are you going to have the damage repaired? Was your friend dui? Was this a friend or acquintance?
In a good faith situation like getting a passed out friend home, and an accident happens that's not your friends fault, forgive and forget. Treat your friends like you want them to remember how you treated them, a friendship is worth more than the cash you'll pay for your deductible. They meant to help you out, it seems, and something went wrong, nothing major, so let it slide if my presumptions are on target.
I'd only try to get that friend to kick in if I knew they were dui and in the wrong to start with, since you didn't ask them to drive, they volunteered to take the responsibility for your car, I'd only risk the friendship if they were drunk driving and therefore irresponsible with your car.

I think u should let it go. Usually i would say make him pay but since u were drunk and passed out and he was just trying to help. Im sure he feels bad enough. Actually ask him to pay half.... tell him u arent tryin to be an a** but if u woulda just stayed there passed out the car wouldve never been drivin and crashed. But if he was drinking too he shouldnt have driven either

I would say 50/50, that is if it was a complete accident and youre totally cool with each other, although it is your car and it is only right that he pays for everything. And he kinda knows its coming, dont ya think? Just as long as it doesnt ruin the friendship. Good luck. : ) PEACE.

Hello, you were drunk and passed out. Pay for it and the next time he should leave your sorry @$$ where it was passed out drunk instead of saving you from possibly waking up, taking the car and killing yourself or worse others. You could have also wound up with a DUI.
Call it cool he was trying to help you BUT if he was drinking to then you should both figure out the mess. Appoint a designated driver and stick to it.

Well first if the car has full coverage, make insurance pay what they will then make him pay the rest.
Otherwise 50/50

I say 50/50 but then again If he didn't have your permission to drive It, you might consider making him pay for all of it. You should have both taken a taxi!
