Any Iran-US confrontation would jeopardize the flow of oil out of the Middle-East. This would disrupt the Chinese economy and ultimately our own as well. If the Chinese were to stop investing in US Dollars, well we went be a pretty fix.

And let's face it, we can't seem to control the main roads in Baghdad....how would we ever secure a nation of the size of Iran and with the type of terrain it has???

Bush has never bothered to prepare for anything other than his elections. Maybe he should have put Rove in charge of the whole Iraq deal.

This war is long dragged out from the 80s. It was called the Iraq - Iran War. And the Ironic thing was, that the United States were allies of Saddam H. Countries that sided with Iraq was: China, United States, Canada, France, Britain, and the Soviet Union. While Iran was supported by China, Lybia, and Other Small Middle Eastern Country. The only reason why countries like France, and China even participated is because they generated BILLIONS of dollars from arm deals to Iraq and Iran. China's sales of "Silk Worm Missiles" are the most commonly used missile in the Middle East Today.

All in All, China will not intervene with Iran and the US, if a war was to be engage. However, it is an opportunity to make a lot of arm sales. Right Now china supplies, Iran and most Rogue countries with Nuclear material, so Iran is almost technically a "satellite" country for China to fight against the US.

Hope that helps.

Yes Bush is prepared he and his whole Clan will go to that secret spot where they will take cover and hide, and we all die. ha ha Really true and not that funny, but in reality China will not step in they have an interest in Israel now and they would be stupid to fight us and lose all their prospering companies that are exporting to us to improve their own poverty problems. Maybe the Koreans will help the Iranians, better than starving? But I doubt it?
Also Russia is already helping Iran and Iraq they have for eons.'
Just like in Afghanistan they tried to take the country after they had been there and finally with our help they defeated the Russians. Russia will always be sneaky though and do their dirty work underground. They supported the Turks all this time too. They are the ones with the Iranians that had the Hezbollah going in Lebanon against Israel so you can count on this will not be over very quickly, without a miracle.

When China throws in the towel, we're going to WW3. We are not prepared, it could happen any day, Bush has created such a mess that will take a very brilliant Hillary to bring us out of it--if we have that long to wait--and don't forget that China is loaning the U.S. millions of dollars per day to fund the war in Iraq. All that China has to do is cut us off from the money, and it's over for us.
Going to war with Iran, or any other Middle Eastern country will be the downfall of the U.S. civilization as we know it.

China is on the verge of an economic boom unlike the world has ever known. They need America to attain this gigantic economy.
Eventually it will be us and China hand in hand.....This is why we have not put more pressure on them to deal with the North Korean situation. They respect us and if we respect them in return the future is bright. "China is the new sleeping giant" (Richard Nixon)

SO CLOSE..If they can hit a school bus sized satelite in outer space I'm sure they can hit Washington D.C. with a missile.

Afterall this technology came directly from the Clinton administration in the late 1990's.

I rather doubt that China would get involved. Let's hope that Iran and that madman, nuke happy, Israel and USA hating leader they have gets booted out by the people or imams before something direly serious begins.

it won't come to that. Iran isn't worth starting ww3. Bush and Hu will shake hands and Hu will stay out of it. Besides, Hu is not a big fan of islamic fundamentalism. More important is the oil supply.

do you mean what will we do IF they get involved. I dont think they will, diplomatic and trade relations aside, that sort of thing would be bad for the international image that both of those countries have forged over the last few decades. For proof see North Korea.

instead of wars of attrition, we'd have to fight them through the air and through the sea. china does not have a blue water navy and have intracontinental nuclear warheads: meaning, they cant send a missile our way. the EU, US, and India can dispose of Iran, China, and Russia so long as nukes are not used. if they are, you can say good bye to all.

Nearly everything we buy in this country comes from or is made in China. I doubt they would get involved and risk losing their biggest importer.
