i am trying to find someone who knows alot about gibson les paul guitars?

i have a 1985 les paul, cherry sunburst, it has binding and an arched top but has dot-inlay on the fretboard, which most people thinks makes it a les paul "special" but i have never seen a special with an arched top or binding, any ideas ?

Yes, it's a Les Paul Special.

go to the Gibson web site give them the serial number they can tell you all about it

Could be a 'LP-XPL'
