(Arik being for a boy and and Kira(key-ra) for a girl)

yeah the fact that they are the same name but reversed is what I like about them...I really like Kira.

how about Arik as a middle name?

I know an Aric and a Kira. I like those names because they are unique but not strangely so. I think that Arik would be outgoing and kind of wild. Kira sassy, sweet, and quiet.

It's Eric, not Arik. Kira is cute. (Although I had a friend with a dog named Kira.)

Arik seems like it should be a girl's name -- inventive, creative, "isn't this a cute name for a girl" sort of thing.

Kira is okay. seems to me if you have to tell someone how to pronounce it, it isn't that good. i think using a long "I" is more typical.

-- i'm not sure that naming a child creates a personality for them. i know another girl with my name and her personality isn't like mine. in fact, i know several. it doesn't make a difference i think. of course, if you give a kid a really "hippie" name (rainbow), then most likely, you and your husband probably have more charasmatic tendencies and probably the child will grow up with a more charasmatic nature.

I love both names, I think they are fabulous.! Of course, I may be somewhat biased because my God daughter's name is Kyra (pr. the same way as yours) and her father's name is Eric! And I am babysitting her right now since she just got a new baby sister yesterday and she and her Mom are still in the hospital!!

My Kyra is a beauty, even at 3 and a half. She is a bundle of energy and a joy to be around. Her Dad Eric is a big jokester and is always having fun, yet is still a very responsible person, if that gives you any insight at all...

And I love your clever spelling of the girl and boys names as opposites! Very good and yet, not all that obvious...

Trying to be different with the spellings, are ya?

I like the Arik name I guess, although I'm used to the traditional Eric/Erik.

Kira I like for sure, although if I spelled it that way or saw someones name spelled that way I would probably pronounce it with a "long I" pronunciation.
