I doubt it....free speech and all. That was a rather mean comment for Simon to say, but it's no different from any other season. He told Taylor Hicks he'd never win because of how he looked....he has called people fat, etc. Now I think Randy and Paula have been unusually rude to people. Randy laughing at everyone right during the auditions and Paula....well Paula just acting weird. At least Simon will sit though the auditions with a straight face and tell you like it is. Gotta have a thick skin to be in that business!

No, Simon Cowell produces American Idol. If ratings go down, however, the network will drop the show. I hope so, I saw the last episode in Seattle and Simon was horrible.

As others have said, that's Simon's routine, to be abrasive. I agree when he tells some of those auditioners that they suck, but I really don't think they have a right to insult someone's facial or body features. It's constructive and helpful to let someone know that it would be a good thing to maybe work with an image consultant if they want to make it in the entertainment business, but to tell someone that they're fat, ugly or look like a bush baby is only playing for the camera! I love AI, and look forward to each season, but the judges are getting a little out of hand. And don't even get me started on that wack-job Paula.

I don't understand the whole drama about this:
-First, that's why many people listen to this show to see what
Simon will say (try one week without him) an i can assure you that the ratings would dropped.
-2nd, those people we see are only a few of the many the judges have seen during the days...
-3rd, like any other show, the producers show us only what they want to show us...if there was actual footage of all the auditions it probably be long and boring...
-4rd, those judges must be tired at one point listening over and over to people (for many as them) who think they can sing when actually, they can even manage to say two words right.
-and finally... I supposed that, like many other shows, the contestants must sign a release form that autorize the producers to use the auditions tapes as they wish...it's the prize to pay for those wannabees and there ready to pay it. It's for us, people with a little sens that it doesn't seem right.
Who are we to comment, nobody force those peoples to enter this tv show.

I wish I was a judge. I wouldn't even sit through as long as they did the other night. Those people were terrible, they deserved everything they got. There was one guy that had never seen the show. Ever. How dumb is that? Simon aint goin anywhere! Would you want to see boring Paula and Big Papa(Randy) beat up on each other? I think not.

I agree; I voted for Kris understanding that Adam replaced into the greater advantageous vocalist and has a occupation past to him regardless of the effect. I enjoyed Kris' song from early on and did no longer have faith he might win yet wished him to so as that he might income self belief and function the bounce initiate that winning AI might grant him. i do no longer think Adam needed the bounce initiate. winning isn't consistently the wonderful factor for the wonderful performer, as then you definately could grant AI with an element of your income over the subsequent 365 days and are certain by using a settlement dictating what and once you could sing, leaving you limited in imaginitive freedom. Adam easily did no longer choose that, he's the main imaginitive we've had on the coach and desires to be waiting to be untethered. Kris replaced into by using far the greater advantageous decision for my vote and could greater advantageous than probable be the artist who's song i decide for to purchase.

Like Dr. Phil said on Entertainment Tonight, it's a game show. They are not responsible for America's well being. If a person couldn't take the abuse, they shouldn't go.
There is no way Simon would be fired for that. (And it was bush baby.)

No he will never be fired for that. The show is dependent on his direct way of speaking. It actually draws viewers. Was he wrong in what he said? Absolutely. Do people like it? Of course. He just says what comes to mind. I think that he should be there to rate people's talent not their looks. I could handle him telling me that I have no talent, but to look like a bush baby, that is degrading, period.

Simon is and always will be like that, I doubt they can get fired for that. As a performer, people need to get used to people critizing them anyway.
