I'm not a person to talk much about how I'm feeling and I don't like to let people know if somethings bothering me, I generally keep it to myself.
But lately I've just wanted to let someone know what's going on in my life but at the same time I don't want to let someone in. I have a hard time trusting people and I need people to prove to me that I can trust them before I tell them anything.
I don't want to talk to my parents because we really, really don't have the greatest realationship and I feel like if I tell my friends they won't think of me as the same person. I know I have a raging storm building inside my head and I know it's only a matter of when it comes out and I end up saying the wrong thing or doing something that I will regret. I also know that if I talk to my school guidance counsler they'll have to tell my parents, I'm only 15 and I know I shouldn't be complaning but I just don't know what to do.
So if anyone one any advise please share. (Serious thoughts only!)

I can only think of a few suggestions for you. If you are just needing to vent - to let it all out, try writing in a journal. No one has to see it if you don't want them to. If you need advice on a particular situation, you can always go to a church and speak with a member of the clergy or if you have a favorite teacher at school, I'm sure he or she would be willing to help you out. Unlike a counselor, they are not required to go to your parents, but they may be able to give you some insight on how to resolve your problem.

Hope this helps.

Cody you haven't said exactly what the problem is so its hard to answer you.

other than your parents, friends and someone at school, is there anyone else.. another family member you'd be comfortable with?

its not good to keep things bottled up and it sounds like you do need to find a confidant you can talk to about anything.

i can understand you have a hard time letting people in, i too have been burnt by people i thought were good friends and thought i could trust to the end so keep things to myself alot more these days.

do you have a local help line you can call annonymously?

i hope things get better for you my dear.

I would suggest talking to your friends. A very good friend, from my experience, has always worked pretty well. At least to vent, get it out of your system. If they're good friends, I doubt they would think differently of you to the degree where they would not be your friend any more. But seeing as you have issues trusting people, which I also have some problems with myself, the school counselor might be the best thing you can do. Unless they believe you're in danger of hurting yourself, or someone else, they aren't allowed to say a word.

I know that on here, it would be impossible for anyone to prove that you can trust them. You should try to develop a friendship first, then go from there. As for your emotions, I have an idea of what you're going through; I was like that for a good 2 years before finally being diagnosed and treated for depression.
I'm a bit older than you, but would like to be your friend as well as a caring listener for you. Feel free to email me at love2hugu2003@yahoo.com.
You're in my prayers.

Keep a journal sometimes that is the only thing we can trust. if we don't have anyone that we could. If that doesn't work you need to find one of your friends that you can truly trust and tell them what's going on. You can't go threw life not trusting everyone. Because your just closing your mind to the world. and if you can find a friend call one of those help lines. Good Luck

Do you have a phone in line that helps troubled kids. In Australia we have a thing called "kidsline" kids call them and tell them their troubles. they are sworn not to tell anyone else and everything you say is private. or try a kids group counsellor
