If anything it probably isn't enough, some people swear by undergravel filters others think they are crap. I myself think they are crap and a power filter would be much better.

Alot of people think there's no such thing as too much..

This is Incorrect! There are trace minerals in water that many fish need to survive and by over filtering, you remove these valuble minerals.

Another thing that which confuses alot of people is the use of an undergravel filter. This is really not a filter. At what point in the use of this system is any type of wastes removed? Never! It is just pulled down below the gravel where it stays and actually over time will poison the tank if not removed and cleaned regularly..

There is no such thing as overfiltration. As long as there is not so much current that the fish can not swim, it will be fine. My 20 gallon tank is filtered with 3 different filters, 1 is rated for 30 gallons, 1 for 10 gallons, and 1 for 40 gallons. That adds up to 80 gallons of filtration on a 20 gallon tank. It works great!

As long as the powerhead isn't creating too much of a current for the type of fish you have, you're fine. Like others said, too much filtration is much better than too little.
