Well times change, dude. Although I don't like these new "metal" bands, and I don't know much about them (except Panic at the Disco which by the way, sounded like Spandau Ballet on distortions) it has always been a cycle. Remember the days of Korn and Limp Bizkit, then everybody else followed? I sorta felt like what you are feeling right now. However, the good thing is, they won't last because their "super-ultra-fame" will make their songs wasted easily. Reason: too much exposure. But try to listen to Napalm Death, Dream Theater, Alice in Chains, Earth Crisis, Obituary, Morbid Angel, the "old" Metallica (circa master of puppets and earlier), and other bands that haven't really gone mainstream or "sold-out", their tunes will ALWAYS sound FRESH once you put them on your player.
My advice, don't worry dude, that's the reality. And would it be better if you can enjoy "Excellent" songs that most people don't know about? It makes your appreciation to the music more "genuine". That's what I always think of regarding my favorite songs whether they be from metal to jazz (I have a very wide range of music). Hope this helps.
Njoi your audiophile adventures!

Metal is far from dead, but yes, Lamb of God sucks. As do My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy. If you think metal is dead, however, you're not looking very hard. :) Then again, you used the word "preppy", so you're probably 13-ish.

There is still a lot of metal out there, you just have to find it. I'm not sure what you define as metal. ( Metallica, Pantera, Exodus, ect) Demon Hunter, Haste the Day & Living Sacrifice are bands I like now but they are christian. Christian metal seems a lot more hardcore than other stuff these days.

Asking Alexandria - I hate this band with a keenness. they're so demanding and called ****. I hate them much greater because of the fact all those demanding *** scene young babies won't be able to end talking approximately them. Of Mice & adult males - i won't be able to supply an truthful opinion on them. i haven't truly listened to them a lot. yet, I even have heard them till now, and it wasn't something memorable. Plus, each and all of the scene young babies love them, so they could desire to be undesirable. Bullet for my Valentine - Oh God. no longer those adult males. each and every time I hear the call of this band, I draw back somewhat. God damn they're awful. Trivium - i won't be able to truly supply an truthful opinion right here the two. From what I even have heard, they are not that undesirable. maximum metalheads the two hate them with a keenness, or say that they are underappreciated. All that continues to be - i haven't listened to them nor do I even have any objective to. Metalcore....I stay removed from this manner. August Burns crimson - that's the only metalcore band i will stand. they're truly sturdy (to me besides). I heard one music, and that they actually performed their units properly and did no longer use a breakdown interior the music (marvel!) Hatebreed - maximum metalheads hate them. i think of they're very properly. they're steel hardcore - no longer inevitably metalcore of their debut. FFDP - Hate 'em. called ****, poorly written songs, undesirable songwriting. Bleh. no longer my element. Bullet for my Valentine isn't old college steel. LOL. Morbid Angel is old college. death is old college. Possessed is old college. EDIT: Pop/rap man or woman? i'm a metalhead bro, get it right this moment.
