move 3 to the other side of the equal sign. it will change to a positive number since everything over the other side of the equal sign is the opposite.
so w=+3
+3=3
so
w=3

w = 3

That's it. Normally you'd also do:

-(w - 3) = 0

But that will give the same result, since you have 0 on the right.
