The problem is set up like this

preform the indicated calculations. Write your results in scientific notation.

(6 x 10^12)(3.2 x 10^8)
----------------------------
(1.6 x 10^7) 3 x 10^2)
the line in between the problems I am assuming is divide.

I also am having problems with this.

The price of an item is given by p=2x^2-100. Find the polynomial that represents the revenue generated from the sale of x items.

Can someone please help me I am so lost.

Step-by-step:
(6 x 10¹²)(3.2 x 10^8)
---------------------------- =
(1.6 x 10^7) 3 x 10²)

(3 x 10^5)(3.2 x 10^6)
---------------------------- =
(0.8 x 1) (3 x 1)

(3 x 3.2)(10^5 x 10^6)
---------------------------- =
(0.8 x 3)

9.6 x 10¹¹
----------- = 4 x 10¹¹

p=2x² - 100
2x² =100
x² = 100 : 2
x² = 50
x = sprt50
x = 5\/2 or 5 times 1,41 = 7,07 approx.

To do the first one, add the exponents on top and subtract those on the bottom. The answer will come out on the order of 10^11.
Next cosider the numbers. (6x3.2)/(1.6x3) = 4. So the answer is 4x10^11.

To do the second one, the revenue = price - cost. You have an equation for price but you're missing an equation for cost so this cannot be determined from the info given.
Say for example each item cost 2 dollars wholesale and sells at retail for the price given by the equation you cited. .
Then cost = 2x where x is the number of items.
Then (retail) revenue = price - cost so revenue = (2x^2 - 100) - 2x
Cost would be wholesale cost (for a reseller) or manufactuiring cost (for a manufacturer). It could also include labor and overhead in its equation.
If you don't consider cost, then revenue is simply the product of the price and the number sold, as Northstar said.

First multiply and divide the four numbers together, ignoring the powers of 10.

(6*3.2)/(1.6*3) = 4

Now to determine the powers of 10, add and subtract the exponents.

(12 + 8) - (7 + 2) = 20 - 9 = 11

So the answer is:

4 * 10^11

Given
p = price of an item
x = number of items sold
R = revenue generated by selling x items

p = 2x² - 100

We have:

R = px = (2x² - 100)x = 2x³ - 100x
