well i think that it would yes...the show after hollywood are about the singers not so much simon and the others...he just makes for good ratings in the audition stages.i think that simon is rubbing off on randy he is being really rude also this season.but i like the show i just think that they need to judge the singing more and not the way that someone looks...like the poor guy with the eye thing going on..he cant help that...that was just rude.

well i hear that simon is the one who pays for them to get a record label that is why he is so harsh at time why would he want to spend his money on someone that isnt going to be successful and knows they arent going to make it to the end of the show.. Simon is brutally honest and ppl dont like that i think it is good to be up and straight with ppl but also i think he should be more aware of ppl feelings

American Idol could survive Simon leaving. I watch for the singing competition, not to watch him be nasty to everyone.

Simon would not quit, he's making too much money from it. I'm sure he has a contract that says he can't be canned too.

Yes, because he is the co-producer of the show.
American Idol also goes through his recording company.
Without him, the show most likely wouldn't be possible.
