The first thing is ,,, the oil company does not make their big money from gas,,, the big wheels believe that that the american people will not boycot very long,,,, and they are right,,,
if you want gas to come down,,, then go on in to these big oil companies ,,, buy your gas ,,, but nothing else from inside the store,,,, buy the gas then leave and buy other things you need at some grocery store,,,, the main profit is not the gas on the out side,,, but all the things they sell inside the store,,, that is where a huge markup is.. some things as high as 400% ... and that is where they are makeing their money.

Simple analogy: If you have something that is so intertwined into society, you have the ability to dictate the price. Most of society has the need to not only use their vehicles, but must also heat their homes. You can boycott for a day or two, but they know you will be back! This is exactly why insurance costs are so high; because it is mandated by law and there is not enough competition to make the companies compete for your business via price.

If you want to break this, find a way to power the vehicles and heat the homes of the world with another technology....and keep it cheaper in overall cost as compared to the use of Petro.

Never thought about it, but the stuff inside the gas station is pretty high, alright.

I bought a card from the local high school (fund raiser) that entitiles me to certain free items. At the gas station, it is a free cup of coffee, or a soda pop. So, I get the gas, and pour myself a cup of the free coffee. I live just 4 blocks away, and could get coffee at home, but I get the free one anyway. After all, the oil company can afford it.

Gas price has been coming down lately. Yaaayyy!
