i dont know much about either of them and i would like to know more about them before i actually buy one. What are the good and bad things about them? I mostly want to use them to chat with friends. Any suggestions?

Nintendo DS litle
it has more capabilities
It can light up a whole room!!!!
plus it's sleeker

It's a matter of preference, if you want something small, sleek, and looks cool next to your iPod, go with the lite, if you want something slightly cheaper, slightly bigger, but plays the same games, go with the DS.

if you mean nintendo ds light i asaygo witht he light because it is th same thing expet smallerand cooler and come in diffferent colors
