I don't usually write things like this and I need alot of help.
My teacher wants me to write this for some contest because I am a good writer for an 8th grader.
The thing is I don't know how to write things like this.
First off shoul it be a typical 5 paragaph format or shoul it be more or less and each paragraph being about something different.
Second I need some brainstorming ideas on why I am proud to be an American Citizen. Mabey something like freedom or escaping from some aspect from another country.
I just need little thing like that to get me started.

For 5 paragraphs, the first paragraph is your "introduction," the last paragraph is your "conclusion," and the three paragraphs that make up the "body" of your paper can present three different points or reasons. Each paragraph should be three sentences at least. For the three body paragraphs, the opening sentence states the point, followed by two or three sentences that explain or illustrate that point.

Here are examples of three points you could make:
(1) democratic government and traditions -- that America has a strong established system of government under the Constitution that wisely separates the three branches of government, while also providing a system of "checks and balances" between them, and protects the right of the people to reform government by petitioning through due process to redress grievances
(2) cultural and religious diversity -- America has an advantage in cultivating diverse communities with a variety cultures that are maintained and celebrated. This includes religions, music, food, language, and customs and traditions from different lands.
(3) freedom of expression, media, and creativity -- America also has a strong tradition of promoting creative expression. This includes the arts, publication, music and media production, and internet communications.
(4) free enterprise -- America has a reputation for promoting inventions, individual enterprise and businesses, and work opportunities to pursue careers in every field
(5) charitable outreach and social reform -- Americans have a global reputation for helping others less fortunate, for sharing resources and education to build a better world beyond borders

I personally am a canadian citizen but i'll try my best
hmm........

ok, you could write about how you are free from most of the deseases that countries like Iraq and south africa and other countries like that.
You could also do a paragraph on the benifits of being an american citizen. Ex. Americans have good education, blah, blah, blah
And the last paragraph......and you could also write about the health care system. Like, how good are the hospitals and other stuff like that.
Don't forget, you gotta put the three paragraphs into order based on how strong each one is. You put the second strongest paragraph first, than the weakest, then the strongest.
You also got the intro and the conclusion
sorry, you're gonna have to do some research

Yes I'm proud, but I think people are getting a little to zealous in thinking this battle is over. This battle is far from over, and I hope the American people don't grow apathetic again once a few things have been accomplished. We really need to change things in this country and show our non representing representitives who's in charge and give them a lesson in humility that will last them years to come. God bless.
