I didn't even answer, so I'm not complaining that mine wasn't chosen... It's just odd that something that makes no sense at all was the "best"

Oh my God. half of you are as retarded as he is!

"I understood it. A ton of anything is a ton... he was just saying if you had to move it, it would be harder to move the ton of bricks little by little since they already weigh so much. But a ton of feathers, even though there would MUCH more to deal with than the bricks, would be easier to move. It did sound funny at first... a real stupid question in the first place! Who would ask that? But yeah, I understood what they were talking about... or at least I think I do.
"

No, you really don't understand...

"The answer DID make sense. He agreed with what everyone else said he just added to it. "

And what he added was wrong. So no, it did not make sense.

"It makes complete sense. Read it again and think about it.
"

I think that - maybe - YOU should read it again, and ask a physics teacher to think about it for you -.-

"yes you are complaining LOL
come on it's their choices. maybe they just picked the ones similar to what they were thinking "

I'm not so much complaining as I am trying to find the elusive logic in this choice, if any.
If you had bothered to fully read my question, you would see that all I said about complaining was that I wasn't for my answer not being chosen, which I am obviously NOT seeing as how I did not answer.

It wasn't a real question, why would you expect the "winner" to be a real answer?

It was chosen as the best because the person gave the most taught towards the question.
They provided an answer that was different than everybody else's.
Most people just said they weighted the same or questioned the question to what it meant.
The person was actually the only one who answered the question.
It might not be the best answers but it was the best one there.

OMG that answer was so stupid. A ton of bricks and a ton of feather are still going to be heavy and weigh the same to move!

That is a pretty dumb answer. A ton is a ton no matter what. There would just obviously be more bricks than feathers in quantity but they'd both still be the same weight.

Well a ton of feather is the same a ton of bricks. They are equal in weight a ton is a ton no matter how you look at it.

Because the person asking the question didn't know the answer and was mislead by his ignorance. The answer is only true in that one is as heavy as the other, but not otherwise.

It makes sense. 1 ton of anything = 1 ton of anything else.

It is a much worse problem in many other sections. You grow rather used to it, after a while. There is no peer review on yahoo answers.

Who knows. I've seen worse though.
Once a person chose the answer, "You're an idiot". as best answer and there were plenty of good answers to choose from.

That one still puzzles me to this day.
