The 1909 VDB cent had a mintage of 27,995,000 and was the first years so many were saved. If you had the 1909-S VDB you would have said so, for the mint mark is under the date. it has gone up over the years and now is worth $6.75 in grade good to $7.75 in extra fine, more if mint state. This is about what a dealer will pay.

Depending on condition a 1909 VDB can be worth a "pretty penny". Now if it happens to be a 1909 "S" VDB, you've got one that's worth considerably more. Since condition is a big part of value, you can look at any online price guide such as the ones listed in previous answers. Or for a quick look at what it's worth, check eBay and compare selling prices.

the 1909 wheatback came in three different mint marks. the most common is the plain 1909 without initials. the less common has the initials VDB on the back and the rarest one is the 1909 S VDB.
value depends on condition. i dont know much on grading but i bought a 1909 VDB for only $2.00. but if your really interested in value then go to a coin dealer or look it up in a coin book. that coin isnt extremely rare but it is one of the more prized wheatbacks.

The one that's worth something is the 1909-S VDB. The worth depends on the condition. VDB stand for Victor D. Brenner, the designer of the Lincoln penny.

Anywhere from around $2 to a little over $500, depending on the initials on the back. See link below.
If VDB, then about $3 or $4.

relies upon on the date, subject, mint mark if any and so on. I assemble money so in case you have any questions as to one especially or some email me. The 1933 one is probably properly worth no greater effective than a greenback or so. I even have some from the 1700s that are a lot greater useful for sure, yet you will come across some interior the 1900s that are properly worth 1000's through their rarity and subject. sturdy luck!
