How do people learn to break dance? Are there classes you can take for that sort of thing?

Most breakdancers learn by practicing together and trying out stuff they've seen at battles. Sometimes you can find breakdancing clubs that are open to anyone who is interested. Go to battles in your area and ask the breakers where they practice.

i guess you can take classes
or learn from a friend or something
im sure dvd's dont help
mtv or bet is probably better :)
