I think it might be true, but if it is true what does it tell you about the person? If somebody likes to wear thongs what does that tell you about them? If someone likes to wear granny panties what does that tell you about them?

That would be the last place I would check out on a person
to be able to find out what that person is like.
I can normally tell by just looking at them or talking to them.

A thong indicates a woman that is secure with herself and her sexuality and that she is open to change, innovation and new things.
Granny panties in my opinion shows a woman is not open sexually, has had an over the top moral up bringing, or influenced by religious rhetoric.
Women that don't wear underwear haven't done the wash that week!

Some men wear low rise thongs and/or string type bikinis for medical reasons. After abdominal surgery the band can chafe on the healing surgery wound. So low rise helps. Also some surgeries cause the need to wear urinary catching pads. When it all heals then some just continue with these new underwear as they like less cloth and less binding. It also keeps the jewels warmer in cold weather.

Well, yes. Clothes do say a lot about the person wearing it. The difficult part is determining the "what". For example thong wearing could mean that they are in fashion, got them free as a gift, want to feel like a slut, couldn't afford anything else, or feel comfortable wearing them. In order to determine the "what" you have to know the "whys" of the culture & the background & mindset of the person.

Thongs mean the person at least thinks they're hot. Granny panties means the person just doesn't give a damn.

No. I swear by thongs and thing they should be mandatory for everyone, and I am a boring 37 year old married woman with a baby-hardly a swimsuit model.

I think so. I think thongs means they are more outgoing and secure with themself, and sexually it probably means they are more interested in it/active.
Granny pants tend to say casual and comfortable, but a bit boring, and laidback.
No underwear... well, that's a tough one!
