At the beggining of the season I had predicted Chelsea would win the champions league but at the moment the with all the injuries at the back and with all the players playing out of position I can't see it happening. Man U definetly have a chance but what concerns me is that we have not beaten a big club in the champions league since 2002. Liverpool are playing very well at the moment but I cannot see them beating Barca. Arsenal are just too inconsistent to be a considered a strong contender for the champions league.

Man Utd have not beaten a big club in the CL since 2002? Juve (twice)? Lyon? Real Madrid?

Either way, if recent history has shown, you don't have to be the best club to win. Chelsea are still in it, without a doubt in my mind. They have a relatively easy draw, and should progress ot the next round. Man Utd should beat Lille, which means they to well progress.

I see Chelsea, Milan, Arsenal, Man Utd, Lyon, Barca, Munich, and Inter advancing. All three Premireship teams have ties that they should win, with enough ease as well. That means 3 teams in the last 8, so they still have a pretty good chance. Arsenal can not win the league, and well be pushing 110% for the CL and the FA Cup.

Chelsea have problems, but they are too strong a squad to simply write off. When their players start returning from injury they well only get stronger. Arsenal are inconsistent and young, but with Henry, anything is possible. Man Utd have better squad depth then people (including myself) gave them credit for at the start of the season. They should push to atleast the remaining 8, and possibly to the remaining 4 depending on who they draw. That along with an EPL championship would be an accomplishment in my view.

Barca is going to be there. With Eto'o coming back, they are that much stronger. It has became quite clear how important he is to their squad. Gudjohnsen is a quality forward, but he is no Eto'o.

I have a strong feeling one of the Italian teams or Lyon well take it this year. Lyon are such a strong side, and they have a such a wide gap domestically that they can focus on Europe.
