Here's the deal. I want to take my home landline phone number, and get a prepaid cell phone from somewhere like Circle K. Can I have my landline phone number switched (disconnected) and become that phone? I know it works for cell phones, but not sure how it works for a prepaid. Do they come with a number already attached? Thanks. Serious replies only!

i know that cellphone numbers are given with certain numbers in them that are not landline numbers. I do not know of any landline number that became a cellphone number afterwards.

Does it matter, anyways look it up on the internets phone books and it will tell you if its a landline or cell phone. To figure it out you need to know it because different states have different cell phone starting numbers.
