Everyone I've ever come out to HAS accepted me, especially my family, friends and people I worked with!

Being out is a personal thing. If no one is "accepting" this guy, then that is their issue. They are not accepting him because they know he is "out." If he was "in" then they would accept him as fitting their definition of acceptable.

being out has nothing to do with being accepted...It's a statement of who you are and how you are going to live your life.
