I have a dell inspiron 1100 laptop and on the bottom of it are three lights, the last one for battery charging now blinks uncontrollably in this order: orange 3 times then green once and it keeps repeating like that even though the battery is fully charged

p.s. this problem started when the waring: low battery power sign came up cause i had less than 10% batt. power, so i plug it back in and same thing...even if i reboot, take/put back in the battery it doesnt stop that...it doesnt affect anything, but it isn't normal so please help....thank you.

It sounds as if the circuitry in the battery pack may have a fault. If you're not getting the normal amount of use time out of a fully charged battery as you once did, then it's time for a new battery. The erratic blinking indicates an internal battery fault.

The charger is detecting a bad battery. Leave it plugged in and turned off for a while. A totally dead battery won't charge very well if the computer is running.
