It definitely gets harder once kids come along. Things can get busy and stale really quick.
My husband and I DO love to do the movie thing. But lately, we've been finding an overnight sitter and having overnight date nights. We pick a fancy restaurant for dinner (somewhere we wouldn't take the kids), then we stay overnight in a hotel. There is a themed couples hotel not far away we love to go (each room has a theme and a jacuzzi). The alone time is fabulous!
But I can't say that the romance is the same as when we got married 13 years ago.....it's WAAAAAYYYY BETTER!!!!!!!

Maybe have a nice romantic candle light dinner with some wine. Nice romantic music on and maybe some rose peddles all over the table and floor. After dinner dance to the romantic music and start to tease each other here and their. After let each other go into the special moment and the rest is up to you and your mate.
Take a pick nick basket with you to the beach and have lunch their. After go for a bike right around the beach. Then walk along the side let the water hit your feet. Maybe after sit and watch the sun set.

Candle light picnic dinner either on the beach or outside on the grass. Cook your spouse dinner and make their favorite desert, a nice bottle of wine. It will be simple but shows you love each and the "spark" is still there so to speak. Don't over think it. The little things go a long way. Act like you are on your first date. Good Luck.

Plan a picnic, go to a theme park, take a walk on the beach at dusk, go to a drive in movie, go to a x rated store and buy yourself a "toy" go home and try it out together :o), find a casino or somewhere with live entertainment,

Go to a nice dinner, have a few drinks get a little tipsy (take cab if necessary) and go home and make mad passionate love......Send the kids to grandparents for the night-if you have any.

If you have kids get a baby sitter . then rent a motel room . go out to dinner and then go to the motel room and do what ever pleases you. You know you won't be interupted.
