Never, not until Al Davis is out of the picture.

They were the laughing stock of the NFL this year!

USC could beat them!

The Raiders need a QB and a better offensive line. Their defense has improved this last season, to be sure, but upgrades are still possible in stopping the run.

The "Raidahs" have a good deal of talent at the skill positions. They just need to develop an identity on offense. Drafting one of the top two QBs in this draft & then bringing in some O-line talent will go a long way to bringing that team around.

Al Davis won't stand in the way of the team's success forever (only Matt Millen knows how to do that.)

I hate to say it about a great franchise, but I don't see the Raiders ever becoming a factor in the NFL again until Al Davis turns them over to someone who knows what they are doing. Davis just will not let go of his outdated ideas or get the best possible players for his team. At one time, Davis was a football guru who had all of the answers, but you have to change with the times and he hasn't. Once Davis gives up the reins to the team and turns them over to a young, enthusiastic and knowledgable person, the Raiders will get on the road to recovery and once again be competitive in the NFL.

When Al Davis finally sells the team, or when the coach actually gets some power to run the team...only then it could happen. When they get rid of players who don't want to be there and so they don't try like Randy Moss, with the weird funk he is in. When they get a good young QB (like JaMarcus Russel perhaps... with the 1st overall pick in the upcoming draft?). They just have to get motivated, and it just hasn't been there since that devastating loss in the playoffs a few years back

Yes... First they need to revamp the O-Line... Andrew Walter is a decent QB, he just needs to have some help from the line. They need to trade down in the draft... If they take the first pick, it's going to cost them millions and they need that money to sign some free agents for the O-Line if they want to get back to being respected in the NFL.... How can a QB throw the ball while he's on his back? I say, trade down and take WR Calvin Johnson in the draft. As much as I hate to say it because I like Jerry Porter, but trade him..... I would rather they keep him and trade Randy Moss, but Al Davis isn't about to let go of a big time player like Moss. Team Moss, Curry, Johnson, and Gabriel together and revamp the O-Line and give time for Walter to throw, who's going to cover them? Then you have Jordan coming out of the backfield........ It's all going to start with the O-Line.......

sure. as long as they do poorly, they'll be getting good draft picks, and that means their team will slowly recover, and eventually, they'll come back into playoff contention. the 49ers are going through a similar slump at the moment, but they're a little further along the road to recovery than the raiders.

In order for the Raiders to live Al must die.

When Al Davis dies. The man proably forgot more about football then I'll ever learn, but seems like he has lost his touch. He needs to take his hands off the team again.
