#1 is the invention of the massed produced automobile by Henry Ford allowed for faster travel and people could move out of town where they worked to smaller suburbs. #2 The Indian wars were a black mark on American history as they were treated / killed and herded onto reservations that was some of the poorest land in the west. Buffalo were killed almost to extinction as this was their main food supply. Some ran to Canada where the Canadians were more sympathetic to their cause. The US army put themin the swamps of Fla. the badlands of the western states and if they tried to leave for better hunting grounds that they had migrated to they were killed. Every man .woman, and child. The ones who complied with the army's rules had thier children taken and put into "white man's schools where they were taught to not follow the old ways of their ancestors and learn the "WHITE EYES LANGUAGE AND WAYS!!! They tried to beat them worse than the "Jim Crow" laws of the south. I could go on and on but what you need to do is study up at the library or the History channel and seethe crimes committe against the Indians. Starting with the "Death March " from the eastern Tenn.N.Carolina / S. carolina to Oklahoma terrritory

k. im thinking railroads because railroads meant that men could travel from home and into cities for work. this helped cities grow. and i cant think of any other innovation, besides cars, because cars meant that people could go anywhere they wanted. they could set up house wherever, and drive over to somewhere else. and airforcekid is onto something there, with the factories.

and i figure that the hardship they faced was the fact that its pretty hard to grow anything over in the west, because of the mountains, not to mention that they didn't know where they'd end up, and the 'white men' were constantly forcing them into smaller and smaller pieces of land, and were eventually sent to reservations.

hope that helps.

I'm sorry for the other jerks. But here's my info. I hope that it helps.

1. One innovation could be irragation-used to get water from fairly distant water source to crops.

2. I'm not sure which native americans they were. They might have been the dakotas, or the cherekee. But certainly with moving, they faced heat, they lost their main food source and they faced harsh treatment from white Americans. But remember not all Whites were nice, not all were bad. Not all natives were nice, and not all were bad.

Yer, seriously, you shouldn't exploit yahoo answers. You should do your own homework, coz you will never learn this way. And then you will grow up to be mentally disabled, and you will live a bad life. So ask your teacher for help, or a parent, and stop asking other people for answers you cant answer yourself!!!
