I assume you're talking about Jade Goody. I'm not going to put you down for not knowing who she is, in fact I envy you for never having seen her before.
Jade became "famous" for appearing on the reality TV show Big Brother in the UK and since carved out a career in other reality shows. In an ironic twist, she was recently in the celebrity version of Big Brother and has caused a controversy with her racial bullying of fellow contestant Shilpa Shetty, an Indian Bollywood actress.
Jade is what we call a "chav". I assume you're from the US, so the closest comparison to a chav would be trailer park trash. She is ignorant, obnoxious, uncouth and has a poor grasp of English. In fact, Shilpa has better English than Jade, and English isn't her first language!

Jade (not Jane) Goody is one of these new breed of celebrities who are famous for being famous, and not a lot else. She was on the reality TV show Big Brother a few years back, but didn't win. However the 'general public' fell in love with her - despite the fact that she's ignorant, stupid and incredibly annoying. Since then she has enjoyed great 'success', appearing on several other reality TV programs and publishing her biography, along with the usual trappings of B-list celebrities, and is now a celebrity in her own right, allowing her to appear on the celebrity version of the program that made her famous in the first place. Big Brother is a program where several 'contestants' are locked in a house, isolated from the outside world (no news, etc) and where they have to perform a variety of tasks. These tasks are often set up to antagonise relationships within the house. Every week or so 2 (though sometimes more) housemates are put up for eviction, of which (usually) 1 will be evicted. Personally I think it is the ultimate in trash TV - you're just watching people do very little, it's like having a glass tank full of dull dull people. Recently Channel 4 (the makers of Big Brother) have got into trouble because Jade and other housemates were making comments perceived to be racist about Shilpa Shetty (a B-list Bollywood star), saying such things as "She should f*** off home (meaning India), she can't even speak English properly anyway". This and other comments have received widespread condemnation - even getting Gordon Brown in hot water, as he is in India on trade talks. Ofcom (the regulator for television) has said that the makers of Big Brother will not be punished, but the police have said they will consider bringing charges against those accused of racism. The best thing about it is none of the housemates have any idea of the scale of this - as they have no news from the outside world!

Her name is Jade Goody. She was a Big Brother contestant who has meanwhile transformed herself into a "celeb" with her own fitness DVD and perfume and way too much publicity. She recently returned to the Big Brother House for a Celebrity BB, and got into trouble with a Bollywood actress who also resided in the house. Jade is a bit stupid, to put it the nice way, and basically started a huge catfight with Shilpa, the (kind of arrogant and condescending) Indian actress. The whole thing was somewhat blown out of proportion, Jade was evicted from the house and accused of being a "racist pig", while others say that she is just a bully who never meant to be racist by fighting with Shilpa. I won't be taking sides here as it is all way too ridiculous anyway, but if it was down to those tens of thousands of people who complained about her at the Big Brother production company, then her "career" is well and truly over...
So, to put it in a nutshell, she is a reality TV "star" with a big gob. ;o)

She is the kind of trailer trash you in the US would expect to laugh at on Jerry Springer.
Only she is worth £8m ($16m) because she became a "celebrity" after appearing on Big Brother in the UK.
She is incredibly stupid, vicious, vacuous and nasty. She has no self control, and believes self control to be a bad thing - a barrier to self expression. (Although she wouldn't actually be able to say "self expression", let alone understand it, because she has the IQ of a goat. Sorry, that's an insult to goats.)
She has caused a diplomatic crisis between the UK and India because of her racist bullying of an Indian woman on the current series of Big Brother.
All in all, you're better off not knowing about her. She is an arsehole of the first order.

Looks like she is from the UK's Big Brother. Make sure you are not confusing her with Jane Goodall, the chimp woman.

i think you may mean Jade Goody
LONDON, England (CNN) -- Jade Goody -- accused of bullying and racism toward a fellow contestant from India -- was voted off "Celebrity Big Brother" by viewers on Friday.
Goody's attacks on Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty created an uproar in Britain and India.
Goody denied being a racist and told show host Davina McCall that watching her attacks on Shetty on video was unpleasant, Press Association reported.
"In all honesty I am disgusted with myself, witnessing what I have seen," Goody said, according to PA.
"I do not approve of any of my actions and I do not approve of the words that came out of my mouth."
Goody and another housemate, Danielle Lloyd, apologized to Shetty on Thursday night in a belated attempt at reconciliation.
But complaints from viewers about the race row soared to more than 36,000, as program sponsor Carphone Warehouse suspended its affiliation with "Big Brother." (Full story)
Channel 4, which airs the program, said it will donate all profits from Friday night's eviction phone vote to charity.
A "Big Brother" spokeswoman said the money would be distributed between charities nominated by the contestants at the end of the show.
Channel 4 canceled a planned news conference on Friday with the evictee and banned crowds that normally greet the housemate who is voted out.
Channel 4 Chief Executive Andy Duncan made a defiant statement on Thursday, defending the decision to continue broadcasting the show, saying the issues raised were "unquestionably a good thing."
He insisted the show would continue to be broadcast, saying it was unclear if the abuse was racist in nature.
Shetty, an A-list star in India, has been called a "dog." Some housemates refused to learn her name, and she has been referred to as "the Indian" and "Miss Poppadom." Lloyd said: "She should f... off home. She can't even speak English."
Goody, who became a celebrity after enduring much abuse herself in an earlier edition of "Big Brother," approached Shetty on Thursday night, saying: "I know that what has happened has not been nice for you ... and a lot of stuff got said the other day from you and from myself.
"I didn't say it in a racial way ... I do not judge people by the color of their skin," said Goody.
"I know that, I don't think you're racist," Shetty said, and the two hugged.
Lloyd, a former beauty queen, also apologized, saying she was disgusted with her own behavior.
"I didn't agree with some of the things you said to Jade, but I especially didn't agree with some of the things that Jade said to you," Lloyd said.
"I'm sorry. 'Cause I'm young and quite naive, I've probably took the route where I'll stick with Jade.
"I feel really disgusted at myself ... I'm following the leader, following the group -- when you are a really nice girl," Lloyd said.
Shetty responded: "Give me a hug."
A chain of perfume shops has pulled Goody's fragrance "Shh.." from its shelves, and an insurance company is reported to have canceled its contract with Lloyd.
However, the Indian Tourism Office saw an opportunity to drum up a little business from the controversy, placing advertisements in several British newspapers on Friday.
"Dear Jade Goody," the ad said. "Once your current commitments are over, may we invite you to experience the healing nature of India.
"Being one of the world's oldest civilizations, our land is one where the ancient and the modern co-exist and a multitude of religions live in harmony."
