Well since it a video game and has colored buttons, i'm gonna have to say playing a real guitar with strings is harder.

Guitar hero is a lot easer than playing the real guitar, you only have 5 buttons to deal with, and you dont have to memorize any chords. So yes, Guitar Hero is alot easier than playing a really Guitar.

Neither , cause it's not even close to real guitar. It's a few color coded buttons on the neck ("neck" used loosely here) and a sort of toggle switch that you strum , no strings , no frets - nothing to do with real guitar. I asked someone here once about it and the greatest description i got was that it's like that other game "Dance Dance Revolution", the one where you had to step on certain parts of a mat in time with the music, and that's not very far off from Guitar Hero games. others will probably argue , but there's no denying - it's just not anything like real guitar.

I've played guitar for over 25 years and have developed a style similar to that of Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton and to me picking up the guitar is effortless...I could not imagine using a game program to play my instrument.

Eaiser cause there's only 1 "string" to play
and only 5 keys to press instead of like the bajillion on there :)
freakin fun too! :) even if you don't know how to play the guitar
