I'd go look at it, and then I'd freak out...... I'd also feel like I was in Silent Hill.
OH MY GOSH!! My dog just jumped up on the door, and scared the crap out of me. sorry 'bout that.

Found a dead guy once. Different situation than you describe. Motorcycle accident, he'd been missing like three wet winter months on the coast. Daylight. Spotted the motorcycle first, just by accident. Walked up to it. Noticed him at about 10 paces away, looking pretty bad. Turned around, drove to a phone, called the cops.
Obviously, there wasnt any danger to me and the guy was obviously dead as a doornail. So, 2,3,4 don't apply. 5? Sure, I suppose. 6? It was very startling, very much an adrenaline rush, but I didnt really start heaving and panting. Ultimately, I did #1. Believe me, that guy wasnt going anywhere until he was in a sack of some kind.

1. make a 911 call from a call box about 5 miles down the road
hoping that the body is still there by the time the cops get there.

And, honestly, I also agree with Choice # 1. It's the safest and most responsible, helpful thing to do.
I must add that in making the 911 call from the call box, I would pull my car right up next to the pole holding the call box, roll down my window only enough to grab the phone and make the call. Of course, with all other windows up and doors locked!

Well unless actually in the situation i could not know for sure, but i would hope that i would first check to see if perhaps the person might still be alive. Then decide where to go from there. Either trying to get them to my car to get them to a hospital (if alive) or getting to the nearest phone - even if i had to go bang on some strangers door. One never knows though until in any given situation, i could just as easily freak out. But i would hope i would act better.

As a guy, my reaction would likely be different. I would probably pull over and see if the person was alive - if so I would probably try to get them to a hospital. If they were dead I would probably go to the nearest phone and call the police and then go back until the police got there.
If you are assuming the person was hurt by another person, I think it's fairly safe to say the person who left them for dead is not going to be waiting around to get anyone that stops to help.

7 if the body is mutilatied from something other than a car accident, I wouldn't hang around...if the person is clearly dead. I would drive to the nearest gas station or store and call for help.

I would do the first one. Putting myself at risk for the same fate would be counter productive. Although the person may still be alive it would be safer for me to call from 5 miles away and hope that she is still alive and help will arive in time, verses not at all if I suffer the same fate.

I'd get the hell out of there. It's dark, and there's a body. I'm paranoid, so I don't stop for anyone, day or night. I'd go home and make the call. I've seen too many horror movies. The one who tries to help is usually the next victim. :)
