Firewire hasn't really taken off yet, but when it eventuality does (if it does) they will come out. Computers still have more USB ports than firewire and you still don't see many computers with front firewire ports like there are USB.

In most cases USB is heaps fast enough anyway, I play age of Empiers 2 expansion of my USB memory drive and it is heaps fast enough to fun it.

USB is more well known and supported. Did you know that Firewire/ IEEE 1394 is a Apple INC technology that just "shares" the rights to use it to computer manafucatures? This is why it is only good for specific devices, and not widly supported. To much red tape to get licencing rights to use that port when USB 2.0 is not only faster, but no legal tape to go through!!

The USB 2.0 spec is about the same speed as Firewire. But to answer your question, I've never heard of any. However, there may be converter cables that you could buy, if that would serve your purpose.

Most likely for marketing reasons. Almost everyone these days has a USB port, while most do not have a firewire port.
