1.)the psp can access the internet via a wifi (802.11) connection
2.)If you go to a place like a coffee shop that offers free wifi you do not have to pay. However it does need to connect to an access point. If the access point is at a home someone is certainly paying for it from the service provider. If you own the house it is most likely you.
3.)From what I've seen Wal-mart has them the cheapest but the difference isn't even 50 cents.
4.)The psp uses disks which can take a while to load just like the Playstation 2. Only one Analog Stick vs. two on Playstation controllers. I find it hard to see past the analog stick issue since it is supposed to be a PLAYSTION that is PORTABLE (PSP).
5.)You can not put any songs actually on the psp as far as I know. The amount of songs you are able to store is going to depend on the size of Memory Stick that you use and what other content you store on it. A 1GB memory stick should be able to hold about 500 songs in wma format. This of course will vary with song length and quality.
6.)Yes.
7.)Yes. But this is dependent on what types of games you like to play. There are even quite a few games that retail for as low as $20 now. Midnight Club 3 is in my list of most fun racing games.
8.)YES. If you do a search on ebay for "ds browser" you will find it. It does require a wifi connection just like the PSP. It is also not available for purchase in stores or any retail business in the United States at this point in time. It works off of the Opera browser.

1) Yes - Through a wireless router/access point on your existing Internet setup or public hot-spot
2) If it is your existing Internet connection then you already pay for it, if it is a public hot spot it will depend on the hot spot
3) Sorry can't help you. In my opinion the PSP is available at a fairly fixed price, the only thing that changes that price is bundles or accessories
4) Not sure what you mean by downsides?
5) This is dependent on the amount of RAM, you can add MemoryStick DUOs to a PSP and store music that way
6) Sorry I don't know
7) Goodness me, absolutely loads of them, Depends on what you like, however some games I love are: Outrun 2006 Coast2Coast, Sims2Pets, GrandTheftAuto:LibertyCityStories
8) Sorry don't know

1. yes it does, but you need a wireless router and broadband internet of some sort, you can also play games online
2. depends, if youre going from a wi-fi hotspot, then probably not, but if you are using your own internet, then definately, but sony does not charge you to use the internet from the PSP
3. i think theyre all the same unless you buy a refurb (just get a new one for 100% guarantee of a working one), i got mine inline so i dont know exactly
4. lower battery life for some of the games (4 hours, but you can get an extended life battery). screen scratches easy (get some screen protectors to fix that), um likely to get stolen if proper precautions are not taken, thats about it
5. depends on the memory stick, format, bitrate, and length fo song... i think 300-400 songs per GB is an accurate guess (WMA format at 64kbps)
6. im not exactly sure, i never tried, but try it and it might work
7. yes! there is a lot to list, complete list as of jan 20 2007 is here: http://www.us.playstation.com/Search?search&type=Games&system=psp
8. i dont know i dont ahve a DS ot Wii sorry

Sorry proposal you supposed psp so far as video games burnout. White or Black if you are going to buy a brand new one it is the identical. You can get your improvements if essential from sony on-line. If you do purchase one and wish to play mp3 get a a million gig reminiscence stick it is valued at it.
