Got a chance?

Question

My middle school basketball team is pretty talented, we won our first game 72-8! We then went on to get 2nd. We lost 2 games and adding what we lost by both games, it's 8 points! Do you think we have a chance making State sometime in the future?

I live in Kansas BTW. My coach tells us to play at our level and not to sink down to the oppents level. She also sayd you can be all happy and friendly before and after the game and off the court, but when it's game time and you step onto that court, you have to think "I'm gunna kick your butt" and do it!

The refs couldn't stop the game from being such a high scoring game!

Congrats on that first game. I don't think there is a state tournament for middle school basketball teams. But keep playing hard, and despite what the first poster said, if you get a chance to blow a team out, blow them out.

I coach, and I tell my kids you play hard whether the other team is better than you or not. If we're killing them kill them. Kill them so bad they wanna quit. If they quit, great we saved basketball from a bunch of quitters, if they don't quit, they'll be much better ball players because they won't quit no matter what.

When you get to high school is when you get to enter state tournaments. Good Luck...Hope you're not in California, I'd like to play your team, with my 8th grade kids.

its hard to imagin a middle school ref who would let that kind of game continue! i mean its middle school! where is the mercy? show some class and sportsmenship for gods sake! as for winning state....you cant judge a team based on 1 win. this is middle school so there is always inconsistancy so it will haave to come down to hard work and practice
